Install Slackware ARM on a Raspberry Pi from FTP/HTTP server

Postby Exaga » Tue Apr 15 2014 - 09:39:54

For those who do not have a USB stick (or of a large enough capacity - 4GB or larger is required) the Slackware ARM on a Raspberry Pi installation guide has been updated to now include using a FTP/HTTP server as the source media. Hope this is a little more useful to a lot more people.

The updated installation guide can be found here: http://rpi.fatdog.eu/index.php?p=install

Thanks to Fonix for pointing out that this was a missing element. 8-)

Cheers,
Exaga

Thanks saved my ass today.... Up and running on install via ftp.....

I had no screen... so I was typing in dark .... worked great, just brought up eth0 and sshd and off we went....

The PI came with a preinstalled Arch Debian, etc etc, tried Arch but after an hour trying to configure static IP

Slapped slack on it and rest is history....
