RasClock - Raspberry Pi Real Time Clock Module V3.0

Postby linicks » Thu Jan 08 2015 - 19:22:57

I just got one of these - arrived today, and took ten minutes to get it going:

https://www.modmypi.com/rasclock-raspbe ... ock-module

Easy to install, and basically follow the instructions on the page.

One thing I did do is add this:

Code: Select all

# Nick - 08/01/2015 - set hwclock
/sbin/modprobe i2c-dev
/sbin/modprobe rtc-pcf2127
echo pcf2127 0x51 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-1/new_device
/sbin/hwclock -s

to /etc/rc.d/rc.S

just AFTER the udev intialisation script (at about line 50) and not in rc.local, as now I get proper timestamped boot logs and not the default Jan 00.00.00 times.

Code: Select all

Q. What is the difference between a duck and an elephant?
A. You can't get down off an elephant.
