sound issues ffplay -nodisp/mplayer & mpd w/opus files [solv

Postby slackartist » Tue Apr 26 2016 - 20:57:51

These are my issues trying to get going

have tried to build ffmpeg with opus=yes to use libopus though it doesnt seem to solve anything
esp with mpd playing the opus files with no skippage. It detects the files but it must be something im notsure opus package is there.

ffplay -nodisp does not play audio and mplayer do not either... only mpd and non opus songs which is probably just the configuration I need to look at...

But I would like opus songs to play good.

Any ideas? alsamixer is not muted, config.txt enables hdmi or audio jack , snd_bcm2835 is loaded, I tried changing the pulse daemon.conf with a few variables but no results.

any ideas appreciated thanks for your time

rpi2 slackware is the hardware running this all on

second off topic edit with mpd and rasp pi 2 b :

make sure in mpd.conf that alsa device 0,0 is uncommented for track to track playback

Just a guess. Take a look at this link - https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/audio-config.md

... and this link - http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Sound_does_not_work_with_an_HDMI_monitor

Although they're configured for Raspbian there's a few good tips on forcing the audio output to HDMI, on command line and in config.txt, and troubleshooting HDMI monitors.

ok updated the rpi2 slackware arm with rpi-update
added to config.txt:
dtparam=audio=on to config.txt (reason hesitant on updating)

mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=0.0 anyfilesong

and i've noticed not yet upgrade ffmpeg to latest so I'll give that a go now.

exciting

edit

digging in irc has lead that this was an error in mpd.conf- had http stream still in the config from another pc that streamed together.

Solved!
