Upgrade from 14.1 to 14.2

Postby elesmod » Tue May 23 2017 - 00:46:24

Hello.

I couldn't find information about the process of upgrading Slackware ARM 14.1 to 14.2. The only one I've found is the UPGRADE.TXT file which says
There is no officially supported upgrade path for Slackware ARM 14.1 to 14.2.

Has anyone tried following the standard procedure described in Slackware's (not ARM) 14.2 UPGRADE.TXT file?

I just want to know if it's doable (just not supported) or do I have to install ARM 14.2 from scratch.

AFAIK versions before current are soft float, current is hard float and would need to be installed from scratch, would be better option than upgrading or installing 14.2 from scratch as you would gain hard float.

Thanks for your reply, glorsplitz. I'm running Raspberry Pi 1, so it's soft float for me anyway. I'll make a backup of my memory card and install Slackware 14.2 from scratch.
